The Hearing Aid Lab is actively recruiting for the following research studies:
Music preferences in reverberation: Most concert halls are designed with a certain level of reverberation (echoes) to enhance music listening. However, most of the research on listening preferences for music have tested listeners with normal hearing. This study presents classical music in a virtual, three-dimensional space designed to mimic different levels of reverberation. Participants indicate their preferences and complete questionnaires regarding music listening.
Measuring how you hear: In this study, we seek to understand how differences in listening strategy affect speech understanding. We will measure your ability to use different aspects of speech (such as pitch and timing of sounds) and related those to overall speech understanding.
